Our Favourite Things: for Visual Spatial Skills

It’s Cyber Monday! To celebrate and help parents, caregivers and family members with Christmas Shopping we will be posting some of favourite toys, games, and equipment that we use and love at OuTcomes Therapy. Our chosen items are not only fun and engaging but they also invite skill development. A win-win for all!

Visual spatial skills help us find our orientation in space, understand left and right, perceive objects around us and organize them into a coherent visual scene, mentally imagine an object that isn’t physically present and enable us to space our letters and words appropriately.

To support the development of visual spatial skills, some of our favourite games and activities include:

1. Doodle Quest – Which is a wonderful game for the whole family – http://amzn.to/2ztmHTQ
2. Using Knitting Looms – A great activity to build visual spatial skills while creating scarfs, mittens, and toques. One can buy a kit of simply access a set of looms and some wool – http://amzn.to/2zug3wu
