The entire team at OuTcomes Therapy is committed to making your transition into our practice a smooth and enjoyable process.

WHAT TO EXPECT

“OuTcomes Therapy was founded to offer effective assessment and personalized occupational therapy. Our sole purpose is to enable positive outcomes for every child, youth, and family that accesses our services.”

Our occupational therapy clinic is a warm and welcoming space where kids can learn and develop through both work and play. If, however, you feel your child would be more comfortable accessing services in your home, group home, school or early learning environment, let us know. We will be happy to accommodate your needs.

With two treatment rooms and a kitchen, the clinic provides spaces that can be tailored to the needs of each child. For example:

  • Gross motor equipment, squeeze machines, climbing apparatuses, and swings facilitate the development of age expected skills;
  • Laundry and kitchen facilities support the development of lifeskills; and,
  • A variety of games and manipulatives support the development of fine and motor development.

If you feel comfortable and are ready to book an appointment, you are welcome to use our online booking system by clicking on the “Book Online” Tab. Part of the booking process includes a chance for you to tell us about your child’s strengths, needs, and abilities. Specifically, we want to know what you hope to gain from accessing occupational therapy. With this information, we will then outline a plan for an initial appointment. This may include an initial appointment with you or an initial appointment with you and your child. If the appointment is with your child, please know that it will be play-based and will typically start with a game. This enables your child to be put at ease and for us to begin to screen some of their strengths and skills.

If you need more information and would prefer speaking with us further, please complete the Send Us a Message boxes at the bottom of the page. We look forward to hearing from you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to access private occupational therapy services. However, some insurance companies require a doctor’s referral to access reimbursement. It is best to check with your insurance provider.

Assessment and intervention services are $115/hour or $57.50/half hour. Upon payment you will be issued a receipt. Many of our families maintain this receipt for tax purposes and/or for reimbursement through their extended benefits plan.

For many children, it looks like play. We will ask you a variety of questions, build rapport with you and your child, and do a combination of play based assessments and/or standardized assessments that have your child look at pictures, draw, respond to questions, complete daily activities, run, jump, and demonstrate their balance skills. In fact, many children can’t wait to return!
